I love photographing horses, then "antiquing" the photograph. Hoping I can find some more to photograph soon.

Introduction

Hello. Thank you for coming to my blog. My name is Stephanie Renee Gomez. I am 41 years old. Mother of five and grandmother of three of the cutest granddaughters in the whole world.

Here I will journal (with photographs and writings) my journey as a photographer. My photographic interests range from landscapes to "life as it happens". I love to capture subjects in natural settings. I find the studio setting to be a bit boring and would much rather photograph families enjoying a day at the park. I also have a huge interest in Photojournalism - writing the stories behind the photographs.

My children and grandchildren are my favorite subjects. A few years back, I convinced my three youngest children to let me dress them as clowns and we headed out to my grandfather's old farm to do a shoot. I shot most the photos in Sepia to give them an antique feel. At the time I had a simple 6MP camera, but that one photo shoot only ignited my craving for photography. The results were amazing !

 

 

I haven't been able to convince my children to "clown up" for me again, but they are always willing to let me take photos of them in their everyday life.

 

Lately, my interests has been in photographing my two oldest granddaughters. Lily is an absolute ham. She loves to have "Nee Nee" take her picture. Usually I will just let Lily play as I snap off photos of her. The unexpected results are always fun to see.

 

 

I also enjoy taking photographs of abandoned or old buildings. There is something wonderful and sad at the same time about an old house covered in ivy.
